Archero 2 beginner guide: what to do in your first week
The first week in Archero 2 shapes how fast you progress for months, because resources spent in the wrong place cannot be recovered. This page lays out what to do, in order, and explains why.

The core resources
Before planning anything, know what is plentiful and what is scarce.
| Resource | Where it comes from | Spend it on first |
|---|---|---|
| Gold | Story chapters, Gold Cave, daily quests | Upgrading the gear you actually wear, then talent cards |
| Gems | Quests, events, progression rewards | Content that drops what you cannot farm — high-tier chests and the rune system |
| Energy | Regenerates on a timer, up to a cap | Pushing chapters, or re-running them once you stall |
| Mode tickets | Reset daily, tracked per mode | Use every one — they do not carry over |
| Gear upgrade materials | Dungeons, events, salvaging unused gear | Save them for top-tier gear only |
| Runes | Rune-specific content and events | Fill every slot first, then start fusing upward |
The seven-day plan
Days 1–2 · Unlock as much as possible
- Push story chapters continuously. Most systems are gated behind chapter progress, so distance travelled equals features unlocked.
- Claim every new-player event reward. These often include a genuinely good weapon or piece of equipment for free.
- Fill all six equipment slots with whatever you have. Never leave a slot empty.
- Don't spend gems yet. You don't know your build direction, and early spending usually buys things that don't fit it.
Days 3–4 · Pick a direction
- Choose one main hero and commit resources to it. See the heroes page for how to choose.
- Start distinguishing top-tier gear from the pieces you're only borrowing for now.
- Experiment with in-run skill combinations and notice which direction suits how you play.
- Join an active guild. Check that members are actually online and guild events are running.
Days 5–7 · Settle into a rhythm
- Once you can no longer clear new stages, switch to re-running cleared ones for resources.
- Clear every ticketed mode daily. This is the most consistent income in the game.
- Start organising runes — fill every slot for the base stats, then plan your fusing.
- Set one medium-term goal, such as completing a full equipment set, instead of upgrading everything at once.
Daily checklist
About 15–25 minutes. In this order, nothing that expires gets missed.
- Clear ticketed modes firstGold Cave, Arena, Monster Invasion and anything else with limited daily attempts. Those tickets vanish at reset.
- Donate to your guild and join guild eventsUnder a minute, pays out every day.
- Spend all your energyPush if you still can; otherwise farm whichever stage drops what you're short on.
- Collect daily quests and milestone rewardsMost complete themselves from the steps above — you just need to claim them.
- Check the events tabLimited-time events usually pay better than standard content and expire quickly.
Picking skills during a run
Every level-up inside a stage offers a random skill choice. This is what decides how far a run goes.
The key idea is to build a coherent set rather than taking the strongest-looking card each time. Several skills that reinforce one direction outperform a pile of powerful but unrelated ones.
Ranged build
Favours extra arrows, piercing and multi-directional shots. Suits players comfortable with kiting and keeping distance, and it performs well against single bosses.
Area-damage build
Favours skills that deal damage around your character automatically. Strong against crowds because it needs no aiming, but it forces you closer to enemies, which is riskier.
Always worth taking, whatever your build
- Attack speed, because it multiplies everything you already have
- Health recovery on long stages with no mid-point healing
- Movement speed — it makes dodging noticeably easier
